How do you handle returns for unique, one-of-a-kind items?

Because every item at Butterfly Boutique is one-of-a-kind (upcycled from pre-loved garments), we’re only able to offer returns as store credit or an exchange, not cash refunds.

What is the timeframe for returns or exchanges?

Please request a return or exchange within 14 days of receiving your order. Requests made after 14 days may not be accepted.

What are the item condition requirements for a return?

To be eligible for a return or exchange, items must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered, returned with original tags or labels attached (if applicable), and in the same condition as received. We may refuse returns that don’t meet these requirements.

Are there any items that cannot be returned or exchanged?

The following are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged: sale or discounted items, accessories where hygiene or fit cannot be re-verified (e.g., earrings) (if applicable), and any items clearly marked "Final Sale" on the product page.

What should I do if an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect?

If an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please provide photo evidence and your order number when you contact us. We will help you sort it out.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Email info@butterflyboutique.co.nz with your order number, the item(s) you want to return or exchange, the reason (change of mind, size issue, faulty/damaged/incorrect), and whether you prefer an exchange or store credit. We’ll reply with instructions on where and how to send your item.

How long do I have to return an item after receiving it?

You have 14 days from the date you receive your special item to decide if you want to return or exchange it.

How will I get my money back or can I swap it for another piece?
